Students pursuing their BBA in hospitality management may decide to focus on culinary management or in tourism and destination management.
The concentration in culinary management prepares students for leadership careers in kitchen management positions, including executive chefs and business owners. Courses include in-depth study of catering, food and beverage cost controls, menu planning and design, entrepreneurship and theoretical, hands-on nutritional cooking.
The concentration in tourism and destination management positions BBA graduates for leadership careers in emerging and entrepreneurial global tourism markets. These markets include the various destination markets, niche markets, such as ecotourism and sustainable tourism, and also managerial functions in tourism planning. Students may also decide to apply their degree and concentration towards a role in event management, including meetings and conventions that draw from local, regional and national markets.
